Hello
I have just found a tag buried deep within the shambles I'm currently wading through whilst preparing for our christmas party. The tag was found in a tin of my bits ands bobs. The tin was found at the back of a sideboard behind a stack of guitars, records and odd shaped side tables. Beyond this a mass of kit bags, jumpers, shoes and fancy dress created the random room of stuff within our house in Herne Hill.
I seem to remember the tag but it has for some reason decided that now it is time that I knew that Moon Dog Loves Me! Which is nice because it's my birthday. I must have buried it away sub consciously. I like your site.

I found one! I found a stocky little pony at End of the Road Festival on September 16th. Lloyd, I saw you hide it on a wall beside the Garden Stage during My Latest Novel. It was broad daylight, and I didn't have the heart. I thought, "That'd be cheating; this is not my Moondog. Serendipity will lead the right person to him." So I left the little pony.
Much later, we were watching Badly Drawn Boy. It was very dark and a curious feeling beckoned me back to that spot, just to see if he'd been found... So I returned to the giant, painted arch that bathed us all in its glow. I was mortified. The little pony was knocked on his side, and now empty beer cups surrounded and engulfed him.
I seized him from the mess. This was my a sign: this was MY little Moondog. Poor forgotten creature!
I heart this little beastie, and I will take very good care.
Yours,
Sarah Bennetto. x

It's just gone midnight, and I am soaking wet. Getting off the 328 as it started pouring torrentially, I took shelter at Westbourne Park Tube...and waiting for the rain to stop I spotted a cardboard square with 'moondog loves you' on it. Almost immediately the rain stopped.
If you bring this much luck all the time I'm keeping your ass somewhere safe.

Hi, I first came across Moondog about 3 years ago when I bought your book from the Tate Modern, after that I regularly checked the book store and your web site for the follow up. I even asked a member of staff at the Tate book shop who handed me a Moondog card but told me that the project was too expensive and that the 2nd book might never make it to print.
Last week I found one of your cards outside the Market Porter Pub near London Bridge. I was so excited to see that Moondog was still alive and spreading his love that my friends thought I was a bit odd and asked what a Moondog was. Anyway I have just ordered a membership pack so that I can educate them in the way of Moondog.
Keep up the good work and let me know if the attack of the scones ever makes it to the book shops.
Matt.

Hullo,
My the level of joy during my weekend of revelry and fun at the Secret Garden Party was sent to stratospheric levels when I came across a Moondog card amongst the mud and beer cans by the main stage. Sadly, due to the vigour of my revels, the Moondog card was lost, and the inevitable sadness was only held at bay by lots of dancing. However, it brought me brief and concentrated happiness, and I am most certainly coming to Hunga Munga on Thursday.
See you there,

Anyway here's my little story...

I was having a coffee at Monmouth Coffee Company in Borough Market and this guy kept looking at me strangely, kind of smiling. There was no room on the bench outside so I sat opposite. He was sitting on the bench and I have no idea really if he was the one who left the card there, but when he left I sat in his place and found the card. When I looked up he was looking back at me. The card looked so sweet poking out from behind the drainpipe so I took a photo and left it there for the next person. Then you saw the photo on flickr and contacted me. So I guess I have spread the moondog love without even realising - by leaving the card where people could see it, and by posting the pic on flickr.
Feel free to post the pic...

Hello,

A few years back I bought a t-shirt from that funny little boutique thing on Kingsland Road, and when I got said shirt home, what should I find but moondog - a small white badge, winking at me from within the folds of 100% cotton. Immediately it became a favourite thing and soon found its home lording over all in my ashtray of badges. That is until New Year 2004. Like thieves in the night, theives came in the night, and exploiting the fact that everyone was bound to be out and about, drunk as the day they were born, they came in through the bathroom window (lounge if truth be told, but liked the Beatles reference), smashing it in the process and took...very little of value actually (except my decent camera and lenses, the sods) - if I am going to get robbed it could at least be by a gentleman thief, Raffles type, and not some dopey idiot smackhead. However, they also seized the ashtray of badges and moondog along with it (and to think he came so close to finding his way onto my jacket that night). I was devastated. That may be a tad strong, but I was mightily inconvenienced and bloody annoyed.

I was moondog-less in a moondog filled world. But life went on...

Then, this Sunday just gone (23rd July), I was at the Lovebox thing in Victoria Park, East London (not far from where moondog and I were parted 18 months before) and whilst trying to ignore the fact that Jamiroquai was on stage, I looked to my feet, and with no word of a lie, beneath my shoe, I saw a small cardboard square, and taking a closer look, who did I see but moondog, again offering an affectionate wink, accompanied by the legend 'moondog loves you...' It was as if he was still there, a small reminder that he will always be watching over me. He led me here...
It was quite a moment, and with the world put bang to rights, I thought I should share my story.
Looks as if the white badges, like that was so cruelly taken from me, are out of stock, but would love to get hold of another at some point.

The card has now taken its place on the very same shelf, and life is good.

I was in the notting hill arts club last night and whilst sipping on a overpriced whisky, a guy tapped me on the shoulder, handed me a card with 'moondog loves you' written on it and before i could ask any questions he ran off into the crowd. It seemed to me very odd indeed. As i inspected my curious gift, i felt as if i had been chosen for some very strange purpous, and secretly fely just a little bit cooler than everyone else because of it. I checked out the website just now and i love what you are doing. I just thought i would tell you that. So carry on doing what you are doing.
so here is the love sent right back at ya from just another regular earth dog.

Hiya. I found a little cardboard tag on the bar at the Luminaire in Kilburn on Monday evening and, being of a magpie-like nature, picked it up. It hid in my wallet until I remembered it on Wednesday morning, and is now perched janutily just below the monitor on my desk. Jaunty in this case means kind of sideways, so Moondog is eyeing me slightly shiftily out of the corner of his eye - however the world does seem to be a better place under his benevolent (if squinty) gaze.

I've attached a photo, but as exciting round-the-world photos go, a small area of desktop in Reading doesn't really cut it.

Cheers,
Elizabeth

I was given by a sweety cheerful guy in his late proud childhood and kindly but firmly asked to have a look at the website. I replied asserting I can passionately draw massive jamaican cocks and boring landscapes just like I was told at primary school. I found it moving in an extraordinary way...
All the best whatever it is to him and if I may dare a wish:
Don't stop dreaming: do it for all mankind and even for people like me who hopeless gave up with flying elefants, toys and fairies in their early 5 years old.

I hope Moondog looks at me right now with benevolent glance and will forgive my cynism still loving me so much somewhere on the pale moon...

And I love moondog! Thank you for your card. I found it in my coat on the first day of university. I was feeling a bit apprehensive but the surprise of pulling a squat, little rectangle of moondog's face out my pocket filled me with joy & its been hunky dory ever since. I think it must have been lurking in my coat for a while- I'm thinking the dog snuck into my pocket on a very drunken, deplorable night at The Troy club in London town. HmmÉ you live and learn. I like your drawings very much; you draw good. Good luck with TOMMORROWLAND, it looks really interesting- like a comic book Metropolis for a fast food world? I want to read itÉ is it done? (i'm making a graphic novel at the mo- a labour of love, it's taking a time- will finish it this year though.) If your still enlisting happy taggers to spread the moondog love, i'm your girl, i'll cover Brighton in cardboard. Hooray for moondog! All the best things (drawings, animation, good music) in one place. x

Heyo,
Found one of these tag thingums in a bar in brixton during a Misty's Big Adventure gig....I saw some guy putting it on top of a beer pump, so when he wondered off I grabbed it, and thought it was some kind of advertisement for a band. After making my friends very jealous that it was me that moondog loved the most I put the tag in my jacket pocket and forgot about it until I found it today. After discovering the site I have to say it's a really cool idea, keep up the tagging wickedness!

your lovely cards...
Hi! For some reason, I get Moondoglovesyou cards at special times... The first time I got one was at the Smelly Ball in Nov 2003, the night I met my boy..The next time, one got snuck into my bag in August 2004, the night I got the keys to my new flat and moved in with him... Please can I have another one again soon - I'm hoping we'll get married....?! I've dated and kept them and I'm hoping to get a nice collection.. Keep spreading the love around this messy city..Actually, if you're around on 20th September, spread some love into Nemo's System night at Underbelly/Zigfrids on Hoxton Square.. Nemo are playing with Trash Money and Superstudio, so it's going to be an excellent night and, even better, it's free! (www.nemointernational.com) Hope to see you soon,
Thank you!

Lloyd,
Just wanted to say hello and let you know what a huge fan I am of your work. If you need anyone distributing pieces in the NYC area, I will be taking the train back and forth every day for the next 2 years in order to teach high school English in the Bronx. I have been a huge supporter since I visited Britain last summer and went to Tate Modern--I bought the book "Art de Rue" that some of your pieces are in. (However, I'm not sure I saw you ;-) )
In any case, I have included a reference to your work in my Honors Thesis on the History of Graffiti and Society for undergraduate study. Cheers, my friend!

Hi, I went on a school trip to London yesterday and one of the places we visited was the tate modern (which was pretty cool) and I found your book in the shop. I just HAD to buy it. It is insane and random. Like me. I am always doing little random drawings like yours with my friend Rob (mostly in our school books hehe) so after buying the book I went and showed rob and we sat around and were amused by your amazing randomness. Rob even had to quickly run back into the tate and buy his own copy just as we were leaving. Now, Im pretty sure our friends got annoyed with us saying moondog loves you because somebody has to, and randomly quoting your book all day but it was fun none the less. And as my dad also happens to be rather insane I rang him up today and read him parts of your book, of course he won't get to see the pictures until he comes home but I'm sure he'll love them. He was pretty much crying with laughter over some bits, especially the wiffy the dead rabbit bit. He told me that if i'd seen that when I was about 8 I would of burst into tears, not laughter. So I can home today, and I checked out your website and decided I must email you and tell you how awsome you are. So hi, you're awsome. And Im gonna try beg my mum into letting me order a membership kit thingy or maybe even a tshirt from your site, Im also planning to buy the second book, when will it be out? Maybe you should include spleens and killer bees in it. oh and watermelon minions. They continually feature in my random drawings. I will make a book one day and send you a free copy. It will feature the especially amazing drawing of Humprho the evil lion that me and rob drew. It was the best picture we ever drew. Humphro ruined the picnic and killed people with his adorableness (think stick people running away screaming NOO THE CUTENESS IS KILLING ME). He also ate their legs so there is a lot of red pen. I know this email is getting way to long, and you probably want to stop reading it and go eat scones (which by the way, my mum makes the yummiest ones ever and if you're ever in norfolk you can pop in and have some) but I just thought I'd tell you about a website that you might like, its pretty damn cool and you might of seen it before, www.toothpastefordinner.com some great stuff on there. Anyway, keep up the randomness and send moondog my love and scones.
Amy

Hi. My name's Miguel Rocha, a.k.a. Kmr (as in Kimahri).I saw a tag of yours in 13th March 2004 in front of St. Paul's Cathedral, on a wooded sign. I'm from Portugal, and I was on a fieltrip in London from 10 to 14th March 2004 with lots of friends of mine. I saw the card, and since I collect flyers, I thought "Why not?" and picked it up. My first thought was "It's probably a boyfriend, wanting to tell the whole world that he loves her girlfriend. It's quite common here, you know? Sending SMS to the TV saying "I love you so much, don't ever Leave me!". But then I thought (today, when I saw your tag on my wall) and I was curious to check out the site, to see if it really exists or not. I entered the website and I was amazed! It's not a tag, IT'S A MOVEMENT! Everybody sees your tag! IT'S ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! If I may, I would like to belong to that movement, to spread it through Portugal.. May I? ...
Best wishes, Miguel Rocha.
PS:I don't know what's your message (besides buying scones), but the website gives a state of mind that is incredible. It looks like something romantic. I just can't explain it. But it made me feel real good when i entered the website, saying "to enter, click here", followed by that awsome music. Keep up the EXCELLENT good work!

Hey Moondog, I bought Art De Rue last week in London, and your stuff caught my eye straight away. Unfortunatley I have not had the privilege yet of seeing your work in the flesh, so to speak, but I was over the moon to see that you wanted people to contact you to offer their services as distributors? Well, I'd love to do it. I live in Leeds most of the year, but my parents live in Geneva, Switzerland, so I visit there alot. Also, I'm going to New Zealand for a while this summer, and Amsterdam is on the books too. As you can see, I travel a fair bit, so the opportunities for spreading your work are here. Let me know.

Hello! I love the site so much. My mum received a moon-dog tag from someone in the Tate Modern [the restaurant] a while ago. I have stolen it from her and I love it (and your website). At the weekends I stay up in London, so i'm coming in to buy the book very soon.

Moondog hopped into my bag sometime on Friday night at Club Kinki. It was very good to find something nice had been added to my bag rather than taken away!

Hey Moondog I thought you might be interested to learn of another Moondog in the world. When I went to SanFran in 1997 I made friends with a nice group of people including a sweet and eccentric couple. The boys' name was Moondog and the girls' Suncat. :0)

Hello Lloyd, I found a tag at Glastonbury last year. It's been sitting in my 'things I love' dish along with some glass beads I was supposed to take to Joe Strummer's memorial (but couldn't find ;o)). Hope to get tagged again so I can pass it on but I have to keep this one. Come and visit us at www.mindlessbanter.net if you're going to the festival this year or even if you're not.

Hi Lloyd I found a tag in the middle of the street next to the Betsy Trotwood pub on Clerkenwell Road. After a long, long day at graft it did make me grin. Almost Golden Ticket stakes! Then I found a small pink monkey on my home street the next day... I don't think that can be related to you but is someone, somewhere trying to tell me something I wonder??! Best send me a pack quick please : )

Hi Lloyd, Found one of your Moondog tags lying at the base of a tree walking up towards Rosebery Avenue, can't remember the name of the street exactly. I was coming back from an interview on the 7th which had just gone badly so was feeling peeved off and was looking for things to take with my Lomo camera and spotted the Moondog tag lying on the ground, intrigued, picked it up, put it in my pocket. Really nice. Wasting 40 quid on a train ticket with a three and a half hour return journey was worth it for finding the tag and the website. Think I may consider joining and getting a t-shirt when I can raise some funds. I'll consider dotting the moondog tags around here even though I can't get down to the club nights. Cheers

Hello! I found a cute moondog tag at a bus stop in Stoke Newington, opposite the dodgy Jolly Butchers Pub. Absolutely loved the animation and wanted to find out more so I kept him (after all, who could be cruel and throw poor Moondog away?!!). I want to spread the word, so please send me a members pack!

Hey there, I stumbled across the moondoglovesyou site completely by accident and I think it's great! I would love to spread the love! I live in Canada, and I was wondering what the international shipping costs are and how much it would cost for a member's pack to be sent to Canada.

hello lloyd, I was just in a shop buying a present for a friend the other day in Paris, and I picked up this magazine that you see around everywhere at the moment - Kink magazine. I was just flicking through it, and was thinking it was cool that it had quite a few pages about art stuff - and then came across a Moondog loves you card photograph. So, naturally thought of you and would like to send you the magazine if you don't already have a copy. I know you're featured in that book on Street art (I think you actually told me about it when I saw you at the Spitz) but I'm not sure that you'd know about this little bit of extra publicity.
cheers, anna x

Hello I found a little moondog in my bag, some cheeky moon monkey must have put it there. I don't know how or when? Maybe at a gig on Friday in the Arts Cafe Toynbee Hall. Or maybe in the Tate on Saturday. I don't know really, I'm not very observant and prone to moments of forgetfulness. Still, it cheered me up on the way to work to think that someone was probably smiling at my dappyness. Whoever put it there it would be cool to find out how long it took me to find it!

Hello Mr Moondog! Are you the nice young man who sold me the Banksy print yesterday at the Tate? thank you sooooo much for the lovely tag! I was soooo pleased that I have been on your site today already! and we are only on our second day's internet ban at work ( Hehehe naughty!)Just so you know , If I was a millionaire I would have brought you a Banksy print too, and a nice ladies purse!!!!! I REALLY REALLY want some tags but Im far to concerned about that you may get cramp in your poor little hand with all this extra demand . I will be popping into the Tate again soon so you might want to slap a restraining order on me! Tata

Hey lloyd I found your tag in my wallet about 2 weeks ago, after a night out around London. I vaguely remember retreiving it from the bus stop on Tottenham Court Road tube station whilst waiting for the 73 home, I liked it, so I took it Ha Ha. It now lives nice and snug in my wallet.

Hi, It is a pleasure to join your club. I saw the website in NME, and later noticed "Moondog" written on a sign as my train was pulling out of Liverpool Street station. This moondog thing appears to be somewhat of a cult? I would love some tags of my own to spread about, do I email you my address and post you a cheque or £2 ?? Your sketches are genius, you sure have a talent.

Dear Lloyd
Am totally fascinated by your website and would love to win one of your scone babies - or could you give me instructions to clone my own - I would call it Sconaid. My interest stems from the fact that my name is actually Sconaid and although there is one other Sconaid in the world ( who hails from Poland) I thought that we were unique or "twonique" and I would be enlightened to know why you are the "Sconaid foundation" Please send my scone baby soon as my grandchildren always go back to their parents when I want them to stay and play and little Sconaid scone would stay and play. I look forward to your immediate reply
Sconaid Clark

Hey, I found Mr. Moondog chillin' in a restroom at Moody's Dinner in Waldoboro, Maine. God only knows how it got there. The message on it said "Don't leave a mess." I'm sorry but I couldn't resist taking it home with me. Now it sits in my restroom in Santa Monica, California. It's far from home, but it doesn't seem to mind our 80 degree winters. I'd love to share more Moondog's on the west coast. Send some my way.
