June
16th... MAGGI,
PIERCE & E.J. blew us away at the JUNE BUST OUT at Rouge!!!

Tanks to all who came
down to the second MOONDOG LOVES YOU CLUB NIGHT at ROUGE,
the JUNE BUST OUT!!!
on June 16th... teaming up with Up
All Night Music this is now a regular night for the club at this
great new venue with an exceptional line-up of moondog regulars, favourites
and rising stars...
featuring: MAGGI,
PIERCE AND E.J.... my favourite American band!!!!
Philadelphia based trio Maggi, Pierce And E.J.'s "down-home farm-city
junk music" has awed and inspired audiences all over the U.S. and Europe
with acoustic guitar, mandolin and dumbek, screamin' Strat, slammin' drums
and thunderous bass. It's MPE's lush three-part harmonies that unify their
inspired sound. Their infectious melodies and spontaneity create one hell
of a live show.ÊWriting as a group, in pairs and individually, their tunes
range from acoustic lullabies to raucous party stompers to hypnotic soulscapes.
Catch them while they are still touring Europe this Summer!!!!
and the awesome sarf
london duo MILK KAN
"Free-form, stream-of-consciousness blues-rapping with acoustic guitars,
lyrical genius of the observational kind. It's mad, but after a day of
piling through the Demo Mountain , this is the weirdest, most awkwardly
endearing thing on earth right now."
Steve Lamacq
also the beautiful
songs of SARA,
poetry from PENNY BROADHURST and JUSTIN....
and a special last minute performance by the fabulous MARK
SILVERMAN from New Jersey... at least one picture was taken... if
it comes out we'll post in online... your drawings from the night coming
soon too...
and if you missed our friends
NIZLOPI playing
with the amazing Joan Coffey at The Bedford in Balham on the 7th of June,
do not despair... they will be both back at the moondog loves you club
sometime soon... we hope you can make it to one of these gigs...
19th
May.... NUTS IN MAY

<<<FLIPRON

down to Rouge to help us get the nights off to a good start. Everyone
had a brilliant time.
the other acts on the night were an eclectic mix of artists including
our own attempt at a band Spooky Action At A Distance (Rachel and

IN THE PARK...a moondog mini-festival
Thanks
to those of you who came along to the picnic on the 17th and had a lovely
time... Nizlopi were on top form, as were Emaline Delapaix, Dan, Violet
and the other performers who included Magic Baby (Chris Kirkland and Sharon
Lewis) who performed a few sweet songs... hopefully this isn't the last
moondog will see of the Magic Baby... We ate too many scones and generally
chilled out in Holland Park with peacocks and rabbits... There are some
pictures drawn on the day here>>>>
and more are coming soon....
THE
HUNT IS ON FOR THE STOLEN HULK...
A priceless inflatable Hulk
was among the only thing stolen from the moondog club night at bod on
the 28th of July... the hunt is on for the criminal genius who surely
plotted the theft for weeks from a mountain lair... we have been
sifting through the evidence... mainly carrier bags full of crayons, sweets,
cardboard tags and half-eaten scones, and have come up with some intriguing
clues. Click here... to see witness sketches
of known suspects... and here to see some photos
from the night of curious and suspicious individuals who were loitering
in the crowded basement bar of bod and participated in dubious activities
such as drawing, dancing, drinking and consuming vast quantities of scones...
if anyone has photos of the evening we would like to see them to add to
our investigation... we will soon be presenting photos and video footage
on the site so the public at large can witness the events that unfolded...
in the meantime if you have any information leading to the whereabouts
of the missing Hulk we'd like to hear from you... you could be in line
for a community action trust reward (or 3 months community service)...
keep 'em peeled...
MOONDOG
CLUB NIGHT TAKES OFF!!!!
Thanks to everyone who came to the first club night and helped make it
a success... everyone had a great time and the music and scones were wonderful...
and we were selling the new moondog t-shirts!!
I didn't get to do all the stuff I wanted... or show all my cartoons,
but there's always the next one...
