The 2005 moondog loves you mini-festival musical-picnic SCONES IN THE PARK... was a great success... 100% absolutely FREE in Holland Park in West London, again on the lovely Yucca Lawn on Sunday the 28th of August...
There are some great photos courtesy of Alex here: PICNIC SNAPS!!!
and a feature with some songs you can download on the features page here" here: ANTIFOLK.ORG
We had great weather courtesy of the gods of rain and shine who said the odds were in our favour (ok i slipped them a few quid) and it was be a lovely day of music, drinks and scones from about 12 midday until we got fed up... The plan was to get 8000 people into Holland Park to can get the banks to cancel my debts and make my poverty history... in fact we just got poorer as we spent the whole moondog annual budget on booze, scones, pipe-cleaners and paint but thanks to some creative input from Dylan, Missy and Tim we managed to create the most wonderful POLICE BOX that is currently travelling time and space... we all tried to get in at the end but found that Tim had forgotten to draw the inside to scale and we could only fit six of us in there...
As well as live acoustic music, we had drawing competitions, painting, making stuff, inflatables, robots, booze and lots of scones... in the idyllic setting of London's most beautiful park surrounded by live wild roaming peacocks and rabbits... Guests included Anton Barbeau, Emmy The Great, Tenderheart, Paul Hawkins, Tim Tomlinson, Milk Kan,
JJ Crash, Sam Beer, Chris Kahl, Tom Hatred,Larry Pickleman, Mertle and the surprise hit
National Snack, or at least some of the band appearing as Mini-Snack performing a brilliant little acoustic set... as well as me and Dom doing a couple of songs which should remain nameless...

THE MAP OF HOLLAND PARK
LAST YEAR:

the Yucca Lawn in Holland Park was
again the location for our second annual mini-festival SCONES
IN THE PARK featuring very talented acoustic artists such as SARA
SCHIRALLI, JOAN COFFEY, DAN JAMES, HUSH THE MANY and lots more... our musical
picnic (with games, drawing, drinks and, of course, scones) is FREE
and for all the family so come down from 12 midday and bring a blanket...
most of the park is actually preserved
as wildlife enclosures but the Yucca Lawn is a nicely enclosed public
area surrounded by trees, peacocks and rabbits (no, really)
a peaceful place for a refined and relaxing picnic...

Thanks to everyone who turned up
on
Sunday the 17th of August 2003 to the Yucca Lawn in Holland
Park,an afternoon of scones, drawing, music and merry-making...
I had a great time... hope you enjoyed

from the winning artist Gerri...
