This is the city of the future, where all your dreams come true, where robot taxi-drivers are your friends, where fast food is available on every corner at outlets staffed by genetically-engineered chimps, where schools are funded by soft drinks and where moving walkways connect towers of glass and steel, but where (strangely) flying cars never took off.

TOMORROWLAND is the story of one new arrival to the city, who starts at the Croaka-Cola School and gets a job at one of McDonnelly's many burger restaurants. He becomes a valued consumer and employee of the corporations and is given a special assignment. An underground movement is trying to subvert the corporate way of life and he is sent to join them as an undercover operative. But through his association with them he comes to see that they are right. That the fast food industry and big chains are crippling the world, exploiting the workforce and are responsible for countless ruined lives and unnecessary deaths.

The story is told through a series of cartoons and illustrations in colour and black & white. The book creates not so much a fictional future as an alternate present. How the present would have been imagined by those at the dawn of the corporate age, full of amazing technological inventions. This is the future that is actually happening.
